These photos were taken during a ‘mileage building’ trip with Cornish Cruising, from 3rd-10th Feb 2007. The aim of the trip was to get some experience of making longer journeys then just ‘marina-hopping’ along the coast. We sailed to Guernsey in calm weather on Monday, a trip that took 24 hours, then sailed back to Plymouth on Wednesday in winds up to force 8, before heading back to Falmouth on Friday. After 3 days of big winds we entered Carrick Roads(the Fal estuary) in dead calm.
Every time we went out we were accompanied by dolphins and porpoises, although they tended to make fleeting and unpredictable appearances above the water, so I didn’t try to take any photos. It seemed more appropriate to just enjoy the experience.
